Kniffin Earns WCRS Top Pitcher Trophy
The Western Carolinas League scribes have selected June's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to Chuck Kniffin of Spartanburg. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 3-1 record.
The Phillies star performer made 6 starts with a 3.29 ERA and surrendered 37 hits in 38.1 innings. He struck out 32 and walked 19.
This season, Kniffin has worked 59 innings with 40 strikeouts en route to a 6-4 record and a 3.81 ERA.
