Bosch Socks It to Sun Kings, Cracks 5 Hits

Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Gerald Bosch said his club's tilt with the El Paso Sun Kings "felt almost like batting practice." The 23-year-old right fielder went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Amarillo Giants, who were topped by the Sun Kings, 12-11.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Giants manager Brendan Larson said. "Sometimes Gerald is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose."

Gerald Bosch hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this season, Bosch has gotten 14 hits in 45 at-bats for a .311 batting average with no home runs. His stats include 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has played in 14 games.
